  • WHERE CAN I BUY INVISIBLE WALL?

The Invisible Wall system is only available directly from our local factory in Culver City, CA and is not distributed via dealers. We provide our own assembly & installation.

We provide technical assistance that covers the entire spectrum from the early planning state through to CAD drawings right up to Goldbrecht-quality installation. After all, we would like our windows and doors to be installed with the same meticulous care and attention as they were crafted.

  • WHAT DOES THE INVISIBLE WALL SYSTEM COST?

The Invisible Wall is a unique and special system that relies heavily on precision manufacture, assembly and installation of all components. Except for the profiles, every single component of the Invisible Wall System is developed and manufactured exclusively by a watch components manufactory in Cortaillod (Switzerland) with a precision of a 1/100 of a millimeter, the standard of quality of high-end Swiss watches.

The sqf cost of Invisible Wall depends on many factors, including size, configuration, system and wind load requirements. On average, the sqf cost for fixed and sliding units in a location with 85 mph wind load requirements will run between $170 (MODULAR profile) and $195 (MODULAR+ profile). The costs will increase for higher wind loads, tall sliding panels or sliding configurations requiring a larger number of tracks.

For Dade County Hurricane Impact rated systems, the sqf cost will be higher due to the impact glass requirement and the high wind loads in the area. For the Hurricane Impact rated profile system, please assume approximately $250 per sqf as a rough guideline.

*Please note that there is a minimum order requirement of $50,000, excluding assembly and installation costs.

  • DO COPIES OF THE INVISIBLE WALL SYSTEM EXIST?

Yes. The Invisible Wall is the Original and the inventor of the Invisible Wall system and invented it over 30 years ago. Buyers should be aware that copies of the Invisible Wall system exist. Some companies have attempted to copy the Invisible Wall product and its success. Some have been more successful in making a quality product than others. Beware of copies offering solutions with too thin and structurally weak glass in order to save cost, a practice that is dangerous and irresponsible.  It is important to understand that copies cannot offer several patented Invisible Wall features that only the Original system can offer, e.g. the precision 4x4 track system. Features that are hardly visible but are a crucial element in the superior performance of the system. Also, Goldbrecht only uses high quality US or Swiss made precision components, many manufactured in a Swiss watch component factory to the precision level of 1/100 of a mm, the standard of precision of high-end Swiss watches.

  • WHAT ARE THE SIZE RESTRICTIONS FOR YOUR INVISIBLE WALL SYSTEM?

The Invisible Wall can be built to unusually large size specifications. The maximum size per panel is typically determined by the availability of glass size. Imported glass is available in sizes up to 26' x 10' 6". The new main entrance Invisible Wall sliding doors at the St Patricks Cathedral in New York City are 18' tall. We can source our glass from the US where Low E glazing is available in sizes up to 8' x 12'. Regular dual insulated glass is available in larger sizes. Sliding units with 5 or more panels are possible.

  • WHAT PROVIDES THE STRUCTURAL SUPPORT FOR SUCH A SLIM PROFILE SYSTEM?

The Invisible Wall is not a conventional sliding door system where the aluminum frames typically provide the structural support. Instead, the Invisible Wall is a special curtain wall system that has been designed to be operable, yet with the slimmest profiles imaginable. The Invisible Wall system is based on structural glazing-with the glass and not the aluminum profiles providing the structural support of the system.

  • WHAT KIND OF GLAZING IS AVAILABLE?

The Invisible Wall typically requires dual insulated glazing for all operable systems since the Invisible Wall is based on the principle of structural glazing. The glazing is specially made for the Invisible Wall and is typically tempered. Laminated, Low E, low iron and hurricane impact glazing are also available.

  • WHO CAN DO THE INSTALLATION OF THE INVISIBLE WALL?

Installation of the Invisible Wall system requires more than general window, door or curtain wall installation experience. Due to the uniqueness of the Invisible Wall, our units should only be installed by factory trained installation experts which Goldbrecht will offer. Furthermore, the Invisible Wall requires an exceptionally high level of precision for installation for which adequate amount of time should be allocated to.

  • WHEN ARE THE MODULAR, MODULAR+, AND TH+ PROFILES USED?

    VITROCSA TH+

Using 1-1/4" / 1-3/4" double or triple glazing, the Vitrocsa TH+ profile allows for oversized sliding window surfaces of up to 190 sqf.  The good insulating properties of the profiles, in combination with the glass, enable low energy consumption standards to be met.

The Vitrocsa TH+ profile is Dade County Hurricane Impact rated.

    VITROCSA MODULAR+

Using 1-3/4" double or triple glazing, the MODULAR+ profile allows for oversized sliding window surfaces of up to 250 sqf.  The MODULAR+ profile provides exceptional energy performance, meeting or exceeding all new energy code requirements in North America.

    VITROCSA MODULAR

Using 1-1/4" double glazing, the MODULAR profile allows for mid-sized window surfaces.

  • HAS THE INVISIBLE WALL SYSTEM BEEN TESTED IN THE US?

Yes, the Invisible Wall system has been fully tested in the US for design pressure, air infiltration and water penetration according to AAMA / WDMA / CSA 101 / I.S.2 A440-05. Furthermore, the Invisible Wall has been energy performance tested to NFRC standards with exceptional U-values. Last but not least, the Invisible Wall system has passed hurricane impact testing.

  • WHAT ARE THE ENERGY VALUES OF THE INVISIBLE WALL AND IS THE PROFILE THERMALLY BROKEN?

The Invisible Wall system is thermally broken and has been energy performance tested to NFRC standards with a U-value of 0.21 (MODULAR+ profile), 0.31 (MODULAR profile), and 0.28 (TH+ profile).

  • IS THE INVISIBLE WALL A NEW SYSTEM?

The Invisible Wall is a proven and tested system that was invented in 1992. Over 1 million square feet of glazing or 60,000 Invisible Wall units have been installed to date in over 60 countries worldwide, without failure.

  • WHICH FINISHES ARE AVAILABLE?

The Invisible Wall's standard finish is clear anodized (naturally anodized) aluminum. This finish allows the slim aluminum profiles to blend in well with the glazing, providing an even slimmer appearance. Other finishes such as Duranar "Kynar" and powdercoated finishes are available as upgrade options.

  • IS THE INVISIBLE WALL MANUFACTURED IN THE US?

Yes, the Invisible Wall is assembled in the USA by Goldbrecht, utilizing locally sourced or imported glazing and precision made components from Switzerland.

  • CAN THE INVISIBLE WALL THRESHOLDS BE INSTALLED FLUSH WITH THE FINISHED FLOOR?

Yes, the Invisible Wall's low track system allows for completely flush installation with the finished floor, even with low floor build-ups.

  • CAN THE INVISIBLE WALL FRAMES BE COMPLETELY HIDDEN IN THE WALL?

Yes, the Invisible Wall frames can be completely buried in the stucco, drywall or other wall types. This exciting possibility allows glazing to span from floor to ceiling, with the slim 3/4" vertical jambs between two glass panels being the only evidence of a sliding system.

  • IS THE INVISIBLE WALL SYSTEM WEATHER PROOF?

The Invisible Wall system was designed and engineered in the Swiss Alps to withstand the harshest alpine weather. In addition, the Invisible Wall system has been installed at numerous coastal locations without any problems.
